About the School
The central theme of the International Summer School on Big Data and Analytics for Fraud Detection is Fraud Detection using Big Data Sets . It is intended that the courses cover contemporary attractive topics. Basic and advanced-level courses will be taught, focusing both theoretical and practical aspects. Problem sessions and social activities are also being planned as part of the School’s schedule.
The School will happen in September 16 to 19, 2019, at Univesidade Federal de Santa Catarina in Florianópolis, the island city capital of Santa Catarina state, at the south of Brazil, also known for its beautiful beaches and a lagoon that dominates the centre of the island. The organisation is a joint effort by the University of Essex s and the Federal University of Santa Catarina under a Newton Advanced Fellowship Grant on the topic awarded to both universities.
There is no registration fee as required by Royal Society funded events, but places are limited, and will be split between academia and productive sectors.
